At Westfield Equine Reiki, we are passionate about supporting the health and harmony of horses through the gentle power of Reiki. We offer Equine Reiki treatment tailored to suit racehorses, elite performance competition horses and cherished domestic horses. Reiki treatment can help relieve physical tension, reduce stress and promote emotional well-being.

Founded by Valerie Westfield PhD, a certified Equine Reiki practitioner with a deep-rooted love for horses, our approach is intuitive, compassionate and responsive to each horse's individual needs.​

Westfield Equine Reiki operates throughout Northern Ireland, providing mobile Equine Reiki treatment which travels directly to your door, stable or paddock!

We are also willing to travel other parts of the UK, the Republic of Ireland and abroad, however travel expenses and accommodation would need to be provided.
​

Valerie Westfield PhD
My journey with Equine Reiki began by chance, spotting a banner for an equine reiki course while passing the Nantwich College equine unit. With my passion being horses, having played polo for many years, as well as keeping my own polo ponies, I thought why not give it a go!

To begin we trained to treat people using Reiki, developing our technique, skill and ability. I began to quickly see the results when using the technique with volunteers and receiving such positive feedback from them, I was beginning to see a fresh spark of passion within me.
​
This passion had me eager to combine my new found love for Reiki with my love for horses, and when we began to train with horses that fresh spark ignited.
During the course I worked with 20 horses, creating 20 case studies to present to the equine unit. With each case study I could feel myself getting better and better with the technique and started seeing better and better results.

With the completion of the course I took my new found skills and began working with horses at the Cheshire Polo club, having been a member for many years it was the perfect place to share my Equine Reiki skills.
​
I continued practicing Equine Reiki in the years that followed, however it was mainly a hobby. When I moved back home to Northern Ireland, I noticed an opportunity, as despite Reiki being well known, the Equine side of the healing technique wasn't really well known there.
​
With this I decided to create my own Equine Reiki business, and with that my journey with Westfield Equine Reiki began.
Furthering my Training
After completing the Equine Reiki course at Nantwich College, I then decided to build on my training, knowledge, and experience. To begin, I started training with Sarah Berrisford at her centre based in North Lincolnshire, called Epona Equine Reiki & Animal Therapy Centre. I first trained as an Epona Animal Reiki Practitioner, and then as an Epona Equine Reiki Practitioner.
I also attended a British Horse Society first aid course for horses, which was ran by an equine vet back home in Northern Ireland. This course was a mixture of theory and practice using horses to bandage, etc.
With this I felt I had a solid foundation built in terms of training, however I wanted to take my Reiki training to the next level. To do this I trained as a Reiki Master here in NI with a Reiki Master Practitioner & member of the UK Reiki Federation.
